The ComPACS Web Viewer is the user front end web interface of a ComPACS system for study and report review. It exploits ActiveX and HTTP(S) technology to allow access to patient and study, DICOM information, all using a Microsoft Internet Explorer browser.

The web viewer provides the same user interface of the desktop ComPACS Workstation, facilitating in-site and off-site usage. Dynamically user defined compression levels (JPEG Lossy, MPEG4, etc.) for DICOM data reduces image and loop access time while still allowing access to fully uncompressed DICOM data when required.

From the web workstation, users can access all predetermined patient databases for their facility stored in a ComPACS Archive. Alternatively it is possible to directly import patient and study data from DICOM media. From these databases, users can search and retrieve individual studies or groups of studies while applying various filters to their search.
